A few weeks ago, I was visiting Ottawa and stumbled upon a copy of Fifty Shades of Grey in my moms’ room. I wasn’t exactly surprised seeing as I remember my mom buying Cosmopolitan and People magazine on a regular basis when I was a kid. She’s still VERY IN THE KNOW. Can you tell?
We had a conversation that went like this:
Me: Hey Mom…., um, noticed you had a copy of Fifty Shades of Grey in your bathroom. Did you read it?
73 year old mother: I not only read Fifty Shades of Grey but I read the entire trilogy.
Me: How did you hear about this book? Did all your friends read it?
73 year old mother: No..I was too embarased to tell them I read it. But they know now.
Me: How long did it take you to read the trilogy?
73 year old mother: A DAY!!!!
Me: What did you think?
73 year old mother: I have experienced sex but not much of the stuff in the book. Let’s just say it was a learning experience for me as I was reading these books.
Me: Did you tell Dad?
73 year old mother: NO. I don’t want to cause him to jump out of the wheel chair.
I asked her if I could borrow the book and she agreed but I’m SLOWLY getting thru it. I’m not flipping the pages as fast as I thought but then again, I am only on chapter 3. I’m sure I would be reading it faster if I was on holiday.
Back to my mom..She’s cool eh? Wonder what she will be reading next!!
Your Mom is super cool!
I’m halfway through the second book and I’m curious what you think of them.
For me the writing has gotten so repetitive that I am getting distracted from the hawtness now.
No surprises there !!
