True Story: Back in June 2009, I found out on Chowhound that Poutinis was opening. Naturally I wanted to avoid line ups and got there as soon as the doors opened. Guess what? I was their second customer.

Fast forward to April 19th, 2016: I woke up and saw the following email in my inbox.

“Hi Vicky!

It looks like we’ll be opening our new location tomorrow evening, we’d love to see you if you felt like coming by! (You’re a good luck charm!!)

Sent by Katie

I wrote back to Katie, saying how kind she was to send this email to me and indeed I would drop by after work. By the way, she also found the first customer from 2009. How cool is that? It’s proof how much she cares about her customers. Don’t you think?

Naturally I ran down to their newest location (617 King St. W) and this time I was their FIRST customer. #hooray #happycustomer

I was given this awesome t-shirt and will wear it proudly!!

As for the space, the King St West location has the same cool vibe as the Queen St. W location.

As for the poutine: it’s perfect. It always is!!

Congratulations to the great team behind this brilliant concept. I only wish them all the best and continued success.

I’ve been following the burger scene for the past few years, so I was eager to check out the latest burger restaurant to open, which is called “P&L Burger” . This is the latest venture of the owners behind Parts & Labour and from what I have read online, they know a thing or two about hamburgers which is why they opened “P&L Burger”.

When you walk in, you immediately notice that the space is narrow and long! You order from the counter and then pick up your food at the back. As for the seating – only 14 seats are available

Here’s the menu….

I ordered the tempeh burger, kale salad and onion rings. I’m in love with the Kale Salad . I actually ate two portions of it – that’s how much I loved it. I also enjoyed the tempeh burger as it was a nice change from the usual veggie burgers.

However on my next visit Im ordering “the hamburger”, french fries and a milkshake…so that I can have another experience. Don’t you worry, I will be updating this blog post.

If you like Crate and Barrel then you are going to LOVE CB2!!

CB2 has 10 stores throughout the United States, but as of Saturday, CB2 will have opened their first International store in Toronto!!

The cover of their catalogue reads: hello toronto and hello affordable mordern for apartment, loft and home.

They are right!!

I had a sneak preview today (lucky me) and I walked around saying to myself “I want”…”I want”…I want”!! Whether “I need”…is a different story!! Truth be told, my good friend gave me a $100 gift card for Crate and Barrel and now I know exactly where to go and what I want.

Want. In. A. Big. Way.

Want!

Want!

I. Want. This. Too!

No question this store will be popular amongst those who live in condos, homes, lofts and apartments!!  Plus, it will appeal to those seeking a great price point for FABULOUS home furnishings. I was super impressed and quickly called a few good friends who are ‘design mavens’ to encourage them to visit the store STAT.

Love.

This week, I am  in “design heaven” as not only did I get a chance to go to CB2 today, but I’m heading to the Interior Design Show on Thursday for my 3rd row in a row. I can’t say enough about this show. There’s aisles and aisles of the latest in design for appliances, furniture, fireplaces and more. It’s a show I won’t miss. So much eye candy – it’s not even funny.

If you like design: this is a show you should attend. I promise you, you won’t be disappointed. It features about 4,000 individual designers, studios, firms and companies and is Canada’s largest contemporary design show.

CB2…651 Queen St. West (south east corner of Bathurst and Queen)

Interior Design Show: Jan 26th – opening party. Jan 27th Professional Trade Day. Jan 28 General Admission (10-7 pm). Jan 29 General Admission (10 – 6 p.m). Metro Convention Centre.
