I have seen so many movies lately that you can simply call me the “movie maven”!!! However I am not a critic. I just like ‘entertaining movies” and the opportunity to sit in one place!!!
Here’s the list:
-The Fighter: Amazing with some great performances.
-Black Swan: Even more amazing.
-King’s Speech: The audience clapped at the end. When was the last time that happend? Enough said.
-Unstoppable: Entertaining
-Somewhere: Interesting.
-True Grits: I can’t remember the last time I saw a western (never, perhaps), but the movie was getting great reviews so I decided to give it a try.
Here’s some more information about the Movie Maven: (otherwise known as momwhoruns)
-generally it’s a spontaneous decision.
-99 percent of the time I go to a matinee
-I never buy popcorn
-I go by myself (coz it’s a spontaneous decision)
I can’t wait for the Academy Awards. I wonder if I will be able to stay up and watch the whole show.
Its been years since I have seen such GREAT movies, with great acting and great scripts.
What have you seen? what do you want to see? Do share…
See you at the theatres.
Sounds like me last year. I started going with great regularity and got a bit addicted. The Rainbow Cinema out at St. Laurent Shopping Centre was something like $2 if you went in the morning. There I was, sitting in a movie theatre at 10 am, time and time again. Stealing a break from my schedule to get my 1.5 hr movie fix. I too love going to the movies by myself. It is an non-interactive activity anyway for the most part. Meet interesting people. I too am sans popcorn. Though if DH comes along I mooch his stash. Have you seen Kings of Pastry. Try to go if you get the chance. A foodie must. Here is my last year list!

I am not much of a movie person, but I did see Sleepers — it’s like 10 years old. Riveting!!!
I agree, it has been a great movie season. Still waiting to see Black Swan and the Kings’ Speech…this weekend maybe.
And I too am not fond of Western’s but really liked True Grit!
Best time to go to a movie? In Ottawa AMC around 11 on Sunday – cost of a movie for 2 people $12
You should have bought Kernels Popcorn and brought it in undercover!
great comment!!
cant wait to hear what you though thought of Black Swan and Kings Speech. They are both winners!!
Wasn’t a great year for movies for us
Toy Story 3 – absolutely perfect movie – a little dark for the younger ones though
The American – boring, boring, boring
Tron – Pretty to look at, but the movie was lame
Percy Jackson – Cute
Diary of a Wimpy Kid – better than I expected
How to Train Your Dragon – adorable and fun
Date Night – predictable but ok – Mark Wahlberg was awesome!
Shrek Forever After — so so
Prince of Persia – so many levels of bad
The Karate Kid – impressive training from Will Smith kid, but the movie was way too long and quite dull
Despicable Me – loved it!!!!
Salt – Pretty good
Tangled — I absolutely positively loved this one & It had Zac Levy from Chuck who is one of my crush’s
Hmm, can you tell we’re parents LOL!
I don’t go to the movies too often, but I saw The Social Network twice in theaters because it was so good! Amazing soundtrack by Trent Reznor too!
I’d really like to see Black Swan and the King’s Speech – especially after reading your blog post!…
I think one of your advertisements caused my internet browser to resize, you might want to put that on your blacklist.
Gday 🙂
What was the best quality and most terrible film of the year 2010 in your oppinion? To me it might have to be:
Best: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part One
Worst: A Nightmare on Elm Street
