ActivitiesNovember 2nd, 2017
No shortage of events in November! Here’s a list of a few of my favourites to keep you busy as the days get shorter and the temperatures take a dip (sad but true).
Whole Life Expo
To be honest, I’ve never been been to this show but I’m on my way this weekend to check it out. Something tells me I’m not going to be disappointed. P.S. This consumer show takes place Nov 3-5 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. Click here for more info.
Royal Winter Fair.
I’ve only started to go to this event in the last few yeas but I’m a fan!! I love the food vendors, the animals, the displays, and more. Just give yourself enough time – its’ bigger than you think!!
My Favourite Sample Sale : I take this sample sale seriously and will be there on Monday Nov 13th as soon as the doors open. I can’t wait to buy my Spring/Summer wardrobe for 2018!!
Toronto Jewish Film Festival – Theres a screening of an Israeli TV series called “Your Honour” over two separate Sundays and I will be there!! I can’t wait as I’m somewhat in love with Israeli TV series (thanks to Netflix and TJFF). Click here for dates/times/location.
One of a Kind Christmas Show: Over 800 artisans and 122 exhibitors will be showcasing their creations of handcrafted ceramics, jewellery, furniture, food, clothing and accessories. This show is always great. True Story: I bought a sculpture in the early 1990’s from this show, and its’ still hanging on my walls and receiving compliments from guests!
Wishing everyone a wonderful November! I know I’m not going to be bored. LOL

The month of May is going to wiz by. Here’s why.
May 4 to 14 – I will be seeing as many films as I can throughout the Toronto Jewish Film Festival. I’ve been been busy studying the guide and putting together a schedule! Can’t wait to help them celebrate their 25th anniversary.
On May 4th – I will be walking thru the aisles of SIAL looking for new products to share with you. For example – Sugar Cubes that are available in three flavours : cardamom, cinnamon and saffron. Stay tuned for an entire blog post dedicated to this incredible trade show.
On May 6th – I’m heading to Oxford County to go on their Cheese Trail. Every Saturday in May, you can head to Canada’s Dairy Capital in Oxford County and enjoy the day celebrating all things cheese. How can I NOT go? LOL
On May 8th at exactly 9:30 am you will find me and my cheque book at this fabulous Sample Sale. I will happily be shopping for my FALL wardrobe at wholesale prices. Love. Love. Love This Sample Sale.
On May 10-11th – I will have the opportunity to drive the the 2018 Equinox on a beautiful drive through some of Niagara Region’s most charming towns. The route promises to include great food, activities and accommodations too.
I’ve been told that the 2018 Equinox is a fresh and modern SUV that’s sized and designed to meet the needs of the compact SUV customer. It will be the perfect balance of design and technology to keep me safe, comfortable and connected.
May 14th – Mother’s Day! Planning on meeting my mom in Kingston to celebrate this special day with her, and planning on spending the evening with my daughter.
May 16 to 19 – I’m heading to Philadelphia and I’m too excited for words as I’ve never been to this city and the food scene sounds amazing. (a priority – clearly).
May 23rd – more good news to follow!!
My biggest challenge is how to get to Ottawa to see the Tulip Festival. ARGHHH.
Hopefully I will get a chance to rest in June.

ShoppingNovember 6th, 2013
This Sample Sale only opens to the public twice a year and it’s well worth visiting. Seriously.
Advantages:
1. You get the chance to buy your clothes 6 months in advance. This means, when I go to the sample sale in November, I’m buying my Spring clothes and when Spring (finally) arrives….I’m set to go.
2. You save $$$. Lots of it. Sample Sale prices are wholesale.
3. You will always look unique as there is only ONE of each item at the Sample Sale. I have only bumped into two people in 8 years who were wearing the same piece I had bought at the sample sale (sadly…they bought it retail at a very different price).
4. It’s held in a showroom where the staff are super friendly and knowledgeable. I love asking them for advice and they have never steered me wrong.
Disadvantages:
1. Sample Sales are best suited if you are a size 6, 8, or a 10.
2. A lot of people can’t get their head around the fact that they are buying Spring Clothes in the Winter or their Winter Clothes in the Spring. I have no problem with this. (clearly)
Here’s a small example of SOME of the clothes I purchased in November 2011. (click here for more photos of what I purchased)
Here’s a few of the WINTER merchandise I bought in April 2012. It’s hard to see the details of these blouses and sweaters but trust me….there’s detail. I bought another 6 pieces but I didn’t want to take too many selfies and I didn’t want to bore you.
This years sample sale is taking place on Monday Nov. 11th, Tuesday Nov. 12, & Wednesday Nov 13. All the details you need to know can be found on the flyer below.
I will be there on Monday morning at 10 am sharp. Hope to see you there too.

I’ve decided NOT to post about a recipe or a restaurant or even what I ate in Buffalo. I know you are in shock. But you see…I’m fed up with the rain. I have a bunch of outfits that I bought in November that I really, really, really, want to wear! However the weather is SIMPLY not cooperating.
Remember that sample sale that I go to twice a year for the last 8 years? Well these outfits are from that famous sample sale!!
So allow me to be a fashion blogger …just this once. LOL.
More..
And more…
P.S. The shorts/tshirts are from Target in Buffalo. Ive never bought short-shorts before.
There’s more outfits but I didn’t want to bore you. Plus it was exhausting trying on all these outfits.
The May sample sale will soon be coming up in May and of course I will let you know the dates K?
Must sign off. I need to study the weather patterns for the next week in the event I can wear one of the above outfits!!

This showroom opens up to the public only twice a year and I swear I’ve only missed it once in the last five years. Silly me – I was out of town.
That won’t ever happen again. Here’s a few reasons why I love this sample sale:
a) I buy clothes my Fall clothes in the spring, which means I wont be freaking out what to wear in the Fall as I will have bought a chunk of my wardrobe in May.
b) There is only one item available at the sample sale so I know I will look unique. (this doesnt happen too often).
c) I save $$$…
d) I really like the women who own this showroom. They are super helpful and always help me make the right decisions.
e) it’s not far from where I live…kinda convenient.
